FREQUENT QUESTIONS

Q: What do people wear at this church?
A: We are a comfortable casual church. You can wear jeans, or you can dress up. God looks at the heart, not the clothes. We try to be like Him.

Q: When do you meet?
A: We have a weekly Sunday service at 10:30 a.m. An adult Sunday School class that meets at 9:15 a.m.  Wednesday prayer at 6:00-6:30 pm;  Wednesday Bible study at 6:30-7:30 pm.   We also have other get-together days and times that can be found on our church calendar.

Q: What’s the parking situation?
A: Ample street parking is available on 29th Street and on Landis.  On Granada St. (the back of the church) there is parking available too.

Q: Is there a nursery and childcare?
A: Yes. We have a nursery for newborns to 2 years old with qualified, trained, and screened workers. We also have a Children's church for ages 3 through 6th graders. The children enjoy these times as they experience games, lessons, and other opportunities to experience Jesus in their own settings. This also provides the parents the opportunity to relax and enjoy the worship while their child(ren) is being cared for.

Q: What is a typical worship service like?
A: We greet everyone and make announcements about things going on in the life of the church. There are times of prayer and singing. Sometimes we have special music presentations, skits, puppets, and things like that. We collect a freewill offering every week, but guests are not expected to participate in that. Our pastor or a visiting speaker will provide some teaching from the Bible. Our pastor does a great job of blessing everyone at the close of the service. After the service, there is an optional time for socializing over light refreshments in the fellowship hall. On the first Sunday of each month, we have a communion service that is open to everyone who is trusting in Jesus Christ as Lord.

Q: What kind of music do you have?
A: We usually have a mixture of traditional hymns and contemporary choruses accompanied by keyboard, piano or guitar.

Q: What do you do for fun?
A: We offer a wide range of activities, depending on people’s interests. Past and planned activities include movie night, potluck meals and bbq, trip to a Padres game, beach bonfire, family camp, kids camp, teen camp, women’s retreat, men’s retreat, picnic in the park, ice cream social, and many others. Please see our church calendar for upcoming events.
